The masterplan
The site we chose for the last exercise allowed us to show a maximum of principles that we want to put in place in our resilient neighborhood.
Thus, the waterfront is developed as a public space totally reserved for gentle movements: bike, rollerbladers, pedestrians. It focuses on recreational programs, such as restaurants, cafes, craft shops, market, open theater.
The two existing riverside buildings are preserved as a remarkable heritage and converted into a market on the ground floor and a vertical farm and office on the remaining floors.
At the rear, new homes are offered with buildings ranging from 3 to 6 levels to enjoy a maximum of sunshine and views of the river and the adjacent park. Services are offered on the ground floor of buildings on the main street in the center, where is also the central square: nursery, doctor, and after school are open for new residents.
