Within the Studio the group of enthusiastic international students was greatly involved in the projects’ work. Thanks to their passion, interests and the constant need to be challenged and learned a new thing we achieved the results shared at this website. During the whole semester the team was working with passion and enjoyed both designing and discussing assigned exercises focused on introducing bases for urban planning. With such an aim, the Studio was divided into three parts within which the students were familiarized with the key tools such as: (1) strategy, (2) structure plan and (3) local plan.

The beginning of the semester three teams designed elements of the strategy for a chosen city which due to the global change: (a) is facing an increasing flood risk, (2) is implementing drone-delivery based solutions or (c) decided to base the whole transportation system on autonomous vehicles.

With the second aim of the Studio the basic elements of polish legal framework for spatial planning were introduced with the next task within which the students developed recommendations for a structure plan for assigned to each team districts of Gdansk: (a) PoÅ‚udnie as the suburbanized area, (b) Nowy Port/Brzeźno as the undeveloped “inbetween city”, (c) YoungCity as the postindustrial potential for the new development.

Finally, all the teams “zoomed in” and designed guidance for a small site decided in the previous exercise.
